The Lion Rock,Sigiriya

                 Sigiriya, also called Lion Rock or Lion Mountain, site in central Sri Lanka consisting of the ruins of an ancient stronghold that was built in the late 5th century CE on a remarkable monolithic rock pillar.... The rock, which is so steep that its top overhangs the sides, rises to an elevation of 1,144 feet (349 metres) above sea level and is some 600 feet (180 metres) above the surrounding plain.....


             Have you seen the pictures of the Sigiriya Apsaras who composed the songs?painter figure of an apsara, fresco from the Sigiriya World Heritage site, central Sri Lanka, 6th century.....

             The Sinhalese king Kashyapa I (reigned 477–495) built a palace in the shape of a monumental lion on the several acres of ground at the summit, intending it to be a safeguard against his enemies..... However, the king was defeated in 495, and the palace fell into ruin....


The site soon became a pilgrimage destination, however, and it is now a popular tourist spot.... Visitors begin the final ascent to the top through the open paws of the lion, one of the few remaining portions of the palace that are still intact.... Also notable are 21 rock paintings of apsaras (celestial singers and dancers).... Sigiriya was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1982....

             I went to sigiriyaI have gone to Sigiriya ... it is second only to Sri Padasthana ... it is located on a rock so we have to climb a lot ...When you climb the rock, the surroundings look beautiful ... it is a beautiful sight ... it feels relaxing ...I think Sigiriya is a place where everyone should go..it is an ancient heritage..I think it is a great creation ..I'll be go back soon ... because I went there when I was little ... now that I'm young I love to go and see it now ...Now that it has been altered for sure ... I would love to see its ruins and experience its beauty once again ....

My favourite Musician 😍

     W.D .Amaradeva Shureen is one of my personal favorite characters..that's why I am talking about him today ..He is a world famous singer, a university lecturer, a lyricist and the musician of the Maldives national anthem. According to the birth certificate his name is mentioned as Wanakkuwaththamitiwaduge Don Albert Perera. He was born in Moratuwa in 5th of December in 1927. He is the son of Mr.Don Ginoris Perera and Mrs. Baalaapuwaduge Magee Weslina Mendis , a Catholic lady.        He was the youngest in a family of seven children.His father was occupied in producing and repairing violins al Moratumulla Technical centre. From his young age he was good at playing violin, sitar and harmonium. At the age of 7 Albert was gifted a Japanese tin violin by his father. That was a memorable incident in his life.
